Lillian was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and attended Mary Washington College.
She served during World War Il in the Women's Navy Medical Corps and was a former member of Wesley Grove United Methodist Church in Woodfield, Maryland. She lived in Germantown, Maryland from 1953 until 1982 and was an Occupational Therapist at Glen Dale Sanitarium in Maryland prior to her marriage. In 1982, she moved to Charlottesville where she was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. Lillian loved world travel to places such as Africa, Scandinavia, the Holy Land, Israel, and Alaska. She also loved ballet and modern dance.
Surviving her are her husband, Harold B. Atkinson Jr. of Charlottesville; a daughter, Rebecca Atkinson Jackson and her husband, William, of Centreville, Virginia; a son, Carter Tait Atkinson and his wife, Sue, of Hawaii; four grandchildren, Alexander Jackson, Elaine Jackson, Abigail Atkinson, and Elizabeth Atkinson; a sister, Martha Anderson Swing; and two brothers, Charles C. Kidd. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey Allen Kidd. Billy was store room supervisor of Facilities Management at University of Virginia for 27 years. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbia. Ira Cleveland Lam Jr. Ira Cleveland Lam 90, of Harrisonburg, died Sunday, October 22, 2006, at his daughter's home in Ruckersville.
He was born October 17, 1916, in Rockingham County, the son of the late Ira Cleveland Lam Sr. and Anne Smith Lam. Mr. Lam retired from Marvin S. Lam Grain in 1989, where he was employed as a truck driver for most of his life.
He also spent many years farming. He served in the United States Army as a medic and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Crozet Baptist Church. On June 2, 1946, he married Eleanor Newman who survives. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

of Ruckersville went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 20, 2006. Mr. Mallory was born in Greene County on April 22, 1916, a son of the late Mary and James Mallory. Mr. Mallory was preceded in death by a son, James O'Neal Mallory; his parents and all of his brothers and sisters.

Mr. Mallory was employed as a foreman with the City of Charlottesville for 28 years. He retired in 1981, and enjoyed an active life until his recent illness.
Mr. Mallory will be dearly missed by his family. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the wonderful care given to Mr. Mallory by the nursing staff at Martha Jefferson ICU. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
